ABSTRACT
The concentrations of micropollutants and mutagenic activities of the river water sampled at 6 points of main stream of Nakdong river were investigated. Micropollutanis in water were separated h the XAD-2 adsorption method and were put to the Ames nmtagcnicitv test using TA98 and TA100 .strains. The mutagenicity using TA98 strains was higher than that using TA100 strains, and reached their peak in July, fhe concentrations of volatile organic compounds were considerably higher in Koreung and llyunpung sampling points than other sampling points. The concentration of diehloroinethane, chloroform, benzene and telrachloroethenc ranged from 0.1 μg/L. to 2.3 μg/L . The correlation coefficients between the mutagenicity and I'OC. AOX and AOXfP were 62 %, 61%, and 71 %. respectively
