ABSTRACT
The influence of hydroelectric power plant discharge on the water quality of the Namde river has been assessed in conjunction with the waste load from each pollutant source to the Doam reservoir and Namde river. The combined river and reservoir systems have been modeled using QUAL2H and WASP5. Three alternative strategies for water quality management of the combined river and reservoir systems have been investigated. Provision of high level treatment of domestic animal waste in the Doam catchment will significantly improve the quality in the impounding reservoir and the Namde river.
